  1. Nah man, I appreciate it.

I actually just had my second follow up post-surgery yesterday.  I got some good news.  I can put weight on it finally and gradually work myself up to getting off the crutches in 2 weeks.  No need for physical therapy either since everything went well and there was no damage to the connective tissue and they remarked I was able to move my ankle through a very large range of motion already.  I'm still not cleared for anything strenuous but just being able to move around more is a godsend.

The injured leg has indeed shrunk, but I'm not too worried about it.  As far as I know, atrophied muscle isn't "gone" the muscle fibers just shrank, so hopefully it'll come back pretty quickly once I'm back in the gym.

I've purposefully been eating at surplus even if I'm not doing much in order to keep everything else and also to help heal up faster (or so I tell myself).

Overall things are going good but I won't know for sure until that first day back for real.

    Thanks for all response.

  2. I fractured my ankle a week ago, officially the diagnosis is:

    Quote

Acute comminuted and mildly displaced distal fibular/lateral malleolus fractures. Few small fracture fragments within the ankle joint. No fracture of the medial malleolus. Soft tissue swelling/edema overlying the lateral malleolus.

Because of those fragments, which the ortho said are now lodged into the joint itself, I will need surgery.  Since he'll be in there anyway, he's going to put a plate and screws in there.

I'm extremely worried about what this means longer term.  Like am I going to be able to do all the things I like ever again: the gym obviously, hiking, playing hockey/skating.

Anyone else go through anything similar and want to offer up their story, good or bad?

    Thanks brothers.

113 billion to Ukraine, China is our immediate enemy, open border ,power grid ,electro pulse bombs, drilling, 5 million from China to Hunter, 10 million barrels reserve crude to China , balloon, Chinese and Russians gathering and crossing from Mexico, we're in deep shit etc...Joe is absolutely leading us to absolute destruction.

You're giving him too much credit.  I would say, as a joke, that Joe is just fucking shit up because he's a senile retard, but that's not really true either.  The people who control Joe Biden (in all honesty probably some idiot 20somethings at a think tank somewhere) are leading us into absolute destruction.

  4. I tested positive for the Chinese delicacy yesterday and the doctors prescribed me a drug called Paxlovid.  Is this shit even close to safe or is it the usual smoke and mirrors shit with the Chinese delicacy?  I do know it's only available under emergency use authorization, so that worries me a bit too.

Wetlook, not sure if your question is about board inactivity?  Your join date suggests you already know the checkered source history, and that may be what led to the inactivity.  I'm not up to date, kinda morphed away from AB a few yrs ago, I am probably not the best one to offer guesses+opinions.

I am sorta/kinda on a small private board I joined around 2011 or so, was never big, but did get daily quality activity.  Today it seems to be dying a slow painful death, no drama, just no activity.  New posts come only infrequently, the main activity is in the chatbox from a few vets mentioning low activity, and even the chats skip a day or few.

Guessing it's just a momentum thing ... activity breeds more activity, inactivity can breed more inactivity to the point of no return???

***   Wally, I will if I can, but I only remember a handful of names ... have seen NC, IM, Schultz and E_T on TID, but not recently, which may say something.  I do remember ApexPredator and SizeMatters, but have not seen them since here, a coupla yrs ago.  Saw German as an inactive Mod on ugbb, but that too has been a while.

Yeah, I meant the board inactivity.  I remember the Dynasty fiasco and some other assorted weird shit that was happening surrounding some other sources at the time, but I don't know if that's what really turned this place into a ghost town or not.

Is your cardio that bad from lockdown? Just a thought.

Oddly enough for the first seven games or so I was fine, it's only something that recently changed.

You're Blood sugar is low during those times you feel nauseous, SO..... what to do about it?

Bring a high carb energy drink or a fruit drink like all natural Orange Juice. YOu simply need a boost of sugar when you feel this way.

Interesting.  I've just been drinking water but I actually started to feel worse the more water I drank.  Maybe I should also eat more more carbs pre game?

  7. So since lockdowns have eased up, I've gotten back into playing in a hockey league.  It's different than cardio in a gym because I can't just take a break when I want to and if I'm really tired and a play develops and I gotta skate fast, I've got no choice but to skate fast.

I'm feeling like I'm going to throw up sometimes on the bench in between shifts because I'm just getting that fucking winded.  Anyone have any advice on how to calm this down?  My games are all Sunday mornings so I'm eating breakfast about 1 to 1.5 hours before the puck drops so I think that's good timing.

Currently not on any orals, just a cruise dose of test and nothing else, so it's not that.

  8. Twigs is absolutely right, you have no idea what you are doing and I would take a step back and not go on anything if I were you until I figured shit out, and, oh, I don't know, maybe listen when more experienced people tell you things instead of demanding we do your research for you.

You don't deserve it, but here is an answer to your question:

The reason you wan to use a SERM first (and I would recommend raloxifene instead of nolva anyway) is that they are faster acting than AIs, plus you need some estrogen anyway.  With an AI, their method of action actually takes some time to work anyway, and you need to be monitoring your blood work to make sure your estrogen is at a good level, so what the fuck are you going to do in the meantime while you wait for the AI to work and wait for your blood results to come in?  Just have high estrogen for weeks at a time and get gyno?  Or take a fucking SERM and block that?  I know what I would do.

  9. He's just some random urologist, not sports minded at all.  Don't get me wrong, it took me a while to find a doctor who wasn't an idiot, but it happened.  Just got to stick with it.  For example, the first doctor I went to was an endo who just wanted to keep my on clomid forever, despite it barely raising my test at all.
