I'm just a little jaded. I work out at a gym I'm extremely fond of, but we've had this recent influx of hipsters doing strongman and powerlifting.

 

Saw a guy pulling 315 in a deadlift suit. I don't think they'll last. I totally agree on the community part. I've met some great dudes in the sport. I've never competed in a sport where the guy I'm going against is cheering me on. It's an incredible feeling.

Non-competitive powerlifting/strongman is the new non-competitive marathon running for these people.
