I had c-5 and C-6 fused and it was immediate relief.   I was always in so much pain that the only thing that help was raising my arm up.   The surgery is not as bad and your recovery will be fast.   Yet, the relief after surgery will make you feel like a new man.   Nerve grow back if any small damage.   I have full range of motion.  Can move my head left and right without any noticeable changes.
