  1. When Joe Rogan interview David Sinclair who is a geneticist and anti-aging scientist, Joe asked him what are some of the supplements he uses. For anti-aging, he mentioned Resveratrol, NMN, and Metformin.

Do you have a link to the study that show Met lowered igf. It doesn't make intuitive sense to me as it lowers blood sugar. It's high blood sugar that suppresses HGH and low blood sugar that stimulates it.

Dr. Sinclair said that he takes Metformin at night before bed.

Google “Metformin and IGF” and a ton of articles are going to pop up. I thought it’s quite a know thing. You can also go on YouTube under rxmuscle and Dave Palumbo explains a few times about it. Humalog and/or lantus work 100x better

  2. Maybe u can outline a protocol for Lantus and post it... Im a humalog user.. well now fiasp for the simple fact i feel i have total control of the 3-5 hour window in which to consume carbs n stay safe..

Problem is you can’t do a “protocol” per say as everyone’s blood sugar levels are different. I outlined above the “protocol” on how to start. Insulin isn’t a drug where more is better, it can actually screw up your progression. Start with 10iu lantus twice a day and check fasted glucose each morning. Up the dose 1iu twice a day each week if needed. Humalog as described like above. You’ll have significantly better results. I guarantee it

  3. The health/anti aging benefits of using lantus to lower BG is interesting, which is why i take metformin daily. Personally I have used lantus many times during bulking phases, and it works very well. My favorite type of slin. But whats your experience in staying shredded/lean while using lantus? What type of diet? How many meals per day?

For bodybuilding purposes I would come off Metformin and just use lantus or some of the newer basal insulin’s if you can find them. Metformin suppresses IGF levels so I don’t recommend any bodybuilder take it. You can bulk and shred with lantus. It doesn’t require carbs like a rapid insulin would. I’m trying to think of the best way to explain how lantus works. Your body releases glucose 24/7 wether you eat carbs or not. If you haven’t eaten carbs your body will break down amino acids and form it into what’s called glucagon and use that for energy. Your body uses this as glucose. So wether you eat or not glucose will be there. What lantus does is sit there and wait for glucose and utilizes it. What this does is keep blood sugar levels stable by telling your pancreas to chill out. So you won’t be getting over production(low blood sugar) or under production(high blood sugar) of insulin. Quite different than how something like humalog or humilin works. That is a bolus dose of insulin used for immediate control.

  4. GH & Lantus? How does one go about getting script for Lantus. I just feel like most docs are going to HARD balk at the idea of a patient administering insulin to themselves as a part of a proactive anti-aging regiment. Fuckers are just finally coming around on Test as a healthy option. (Rolls eyes)

To get a script you can do two things. First if your comfortable with your doctor tell him you BB and eat a ton and are worried. Tell him you have a family history of diabetes and you want to be healthy. Second approach tell your doctor you’ve been having blood sugar problems. You bought a glucose meter to check and your fasted glucose has been around 140-150. When he gives you blood work eat before your fasted test and get your blood sugar yo around 150 in the parking lot before your draw. Labs will show elevated glucose.

  5. lotta doctors practices doing away with humalog.. Fiasp is the new rapid acting insulin being distributed now.. its faster acting than the humalog... whats ur thoughts??

Yea it’s becoming older technology. Same reason I have people stay away from humulin. I never heard of Fiasp until now. I can’t keep up with all these new insulin names. I actually went to the doctor last week and had labs done. I’m attempting to switch over my humalog prescription to aftezza. Well see what insurance says lol.

  6. T prop is good to go in my opinion , came off cycle and just been on the prop for a bit still looking and feeling good as my script test only taking 2 to 300 a week .. I will use his stuff again and was pretty generous with this give away , even included a 25 gauge needle & syringe to show it would flow through a smaller gauge needle which is does nicely ..

Thank you slim. Glad you liked it. Look forward to hearing from you brother

  7. Very nice read! Dammit now I’m gonna go get a glucometer and check my numbers. I’ve always felt fine and recently started Metformin 500mg daily for anti-aging benefits and I’ve also started GH @ 3iu daily. I’m guessing Lantus isn’t avail without a script? I just remember seeing Novolin at Walmart for sale.

Gh and Metformin isn’t a good mix. It’s lije pissing in the wind. Metformin lowers IGF levels significantly while gh raises them. If you want anti aging benefits use lantus instead. Night and day difference.

  8. so when using 15iu humalin preworkout 30 min before which has an active life of 6hrs how you would know how many carbs to take within that window without spilling over and accumulating fat. Like for example if one is taking 5iu gh plus 15 iu humaling preworkout. How do you start a baseline for carbs over the 6 hrs

You’d have to track it exactly with a glucose meter. Do the same thing I laid out before to track how much insulin you need for 50g of carbs. Whatever you’re going to need you’ll need the same the following meal because of the second peak. I tell people to steer away from humulin because it’s basically “old technology” and we have much better insulin like humalog. The newer afrezza insulin is the best one out but not readily available for bodybuilders yet.

There are plenty of places to get good insulin. Grab some Lantus and humalog. You’ll have much much better results

  9. After getting so many questions regarding insulin use I’m going to make this thread regarding proper insulin use. There is so much misinformation about insulin and about how to use it I feel this will benefit members.

First thing I will start with will go against what most think and what most are told. Insulin IS NOT A MUSCLE BUILDING HORMONE. Although it is anabolic, it does not build muscle. So the more insulin you take doesn’t mean the more muscle you will gain. It’s one of those drugs where seriously less is more. Too much insulin stresses out the body.

So why do bodybuilders gain a lot of muscle on insulin? Two reasons. First insulin works by storing aminos acids, carbs, and fat into the muscles. This overall is going to help with recovery, which leads to growth. The second reason insulin helps bodybuilders gain muscle is by taking stress off the pancreas. There are lots of factors that can make your bodies natural insulin output not optimal which significantly affects growth. These factors which we’ll talk about later lead to insulin resistance and not producing enough insulin.

First question you need to ask yourself is “do I need insulin?” I feel anyone that is bodybuilding should be taking a basal insulin daily for wellness and longevity. I will get into that also later. But for everyone else to see if they really need insulin we have to check you fasting glucose levels. This is done first thing in the morning upon waking before eating or drinking.

How does one check their fasting glucose? First step is to go to wal mart and purchase a glucose meter for $10.

    https://www.walmart.com/browse/health/blood-glucose-monitors/976760_1231757_1231861

Take your glucose reading and see what it is. The medical healthy level for glucose is between 70-120. For athletes the best range is between 75-85. If your fasted glucose levels are over 85 and you workout regularly I recommend looking into why they’re so high.

What can cause high levels of glucose? There are quite a number of factors, eating too much being the obvious. But I’ll get into the more non obvious reasons. First one being stress. Stress will fuck up your insulin sensitivity. I think this is more common now due to caffeine consumption. A lot of people take Preworkout and I always advise against it. These Preworkouts have 200+mg per scoop and people sometimes taking 2 scoops of more. People drink coffee and energy drinks. There is even a damn peanut butter with caffeine in it. This is taxing your adrenals which is affecting your insulin sensitivity. Lack of sleep will also cause insulin resistance. Contest prep usually causes horrible sleep, work schedules, and then again back to over consumption of caffeine. Growth hormone usage causes insulin resistance. I say anyone using over 3iu a day should be using a basal insulin no matter what.

What insulin should I take? There are two types, basal insulin (long acting) and rapid acting. The most common type of basal insulin used by bodybuilders is Lantus. Lantus works by taking the stress off the beta cells. It basically tells your pancreas to stop producing insulin. The most common type of rapid insulin used by bodybuilders today is humalog. This type of insulin is used for correction factor when eating meals. So you would take rapid insulin with carbohydrate meals only.

How much insulin should one take? Well that depends on the insulin and the type of insulin. Again I’ll use the Lantus and Humalog examples.

The formula for finding out how much basal insulin to start with would be your body weight in kilograms multiplied by (.2). For a 220lb man it would look like this:

    100kg x .2 = 20units.

Now you have your starting basal insulin dose which is 20iu. Lantus is needed to be taken every 12hrs so you would divide that dose by 2 which would leave 10iu and 10iu. So you would take 10iu in the morning and 10iu before bed.

Now to figure out your correction factor for Lantus you would do the following. Say you took your 20iu the day before. You woke up and tested your blood sugar and it was say 96. It’s not bad but it’s not good either. To correct this you would add 1iu to each dose. So you would take 11iu and then 11iu. Check your blood sugar again the next day. Let’s say it was 90. You would again add another 1iu to each dose. So it would then be 12iu and 12iu. You would continue to do this until you reached the 75-85 optimal range. You can check your fasting glucose every morning if you want but some people don’t like to keep sticking themselves. So check at least once a week to make sure you’re in the optimal range.

Now if your going to take a rapid acting insulin with your carb meals you would need to figure out how many grams of carbs are needed for 1iu of insulin. The internet standard is always 1iu to 10g of carbs. It’s not a bad estimate but each person is different. Some people could need 5g of carbs per 1iu and some people could need 30g per 1iu.

What I have a person do is consume 50g of carbs via candy and take 5iu humalog. Don’t eat any protein or fats with it as it will affect the test. Take the 5iu humalog prior to eating the candy. You always want to take a rapid insulin prior to eating as it won’t allow your pancreas to over produce insulin. Test your glucose 2 hours later and if your levels are over 120 you know you need to add more. Add 1iu per 50g of carb test until you reach under 120. If you’re starting to go hypoglycemic test your levels to see where it’s at. If you’re low eat some more candy and try again the next day with a lower dose of say 2iu and go from there.

So say you need 7iu to clear 50g of carbs. You can now figure out how many carbs you need per unit. 50/7= 7g per 1iu. So if you had two cups of rice at 80g of carbs you now know you would need 11iu to clear that meal. Once a week check you glucose after a meal to make sure you’re still optimal.

Now some questioned I get asked:

Can’t I just use humalog and not lantus?

Yes you can, but there are varying factors here to this question. Depends on your fasted glucose and wether you’re using GH or not. If you’re using gh you’re should 100% be using lantus. If you’re not you’re creating negative feedback on your body and stressing the beta cells out.

Can’t I just run smaller amounts of insulin and not check my glucose?

You could but why? Wouldn’t you want to know how much you should be using? If you’re not using enough insulin you’re going to risk raising your glucose levels and if you’re using too much you’re risking hypoglycemia and stressing your body. If you’re going to do it make sure you do it correctly.

Can’t I get diabetes using insulin?

No. I don’t know where this comes from but using insulin will do the complete opposite. How are you going to get diabetes if you’re lowering your glucose levels? As I stated above Lantus and other basal insulin’s are being used in wellness clinics now for longevity and keeping the body healthy. It takes stress off your pancreas which is a good thing.

Can I eat 1000g of carbs and use insulin to gain more muscle?

No, insulin doesn’t work like that. This is why I tell people using the least insulin possible actually works better. If your eating 150g carbs per meal and you take 21iu insulin it will be fine and you will clear the carbs. But remember this, insulin is a storage hormone. Any carbs that don’t get sent as glycogen storage are going to fat storage. This is how you get fat on insulin. Don’t think you can over eat carbs just because you can clear it with insulin. This is the quickest way to get fat.

Should I take a intra workout carb with insulin?

It’s not needed and again this is another way to get fat. I even get asked about intra workout nutrition for non insulin users. Let me explain it like this. If you’re eating a Preworkout meal of say 40g protein and 40g of carbs that is 320 calories (without any fats) prior to working out with insulin. Again, insulin is a storage hormone. If you had glycogen stored from prior meals you may already be full and that is going to be stored as fat. So let’s say you did a really hard workout and burned 3-400 calories (I’m figuring high). You’ve used the carbs (energy) that you too Preworkout plus anything you had in glycogen storage. If you needed more energy Preworkout eat more carbs prior. If you took in a Karbolyn shake intra workout (50g carbs) that’s an additional 200 calories for that one workout. That would be 400 calories alone just in carbohydrates alone between the Preworkout meal and the intraworkout. Any excess calories will be stored as fat.

  10. Not certain if this is addressed to me..? If so, no.. not at this time, just the Lantus every day til I decide to pull it.

And the Log (Huma, or Nova ) pre w/o only but I will toil wirh post as well. Next time around I'll follow the protocol

"Mutants" as is, to the tee. Just experimenting in this go.!

SLO & steady, well prepared . Trying to make a lean clean bulk of this & keep most of what I gain.

I’ll try to do the write up tonight for everyone. Women is out with friends tonight for dinner. So just me and the dog tonight!

  11. What about proviron in addition test & mast & what dosages would you run? 1500 mgs of test is double my max does, I’m not so sure about that. I always try to take just enough to see progress & limit the sides though.

You could run either the Proviron or masteron with the test, you wouldn’t need both as it would be over kill. I know you personally like the Proviron for the sexual benefits. If you haven’t gone over 750mg test I wouldn’t recommend doubling it. Going to 1000 and working from there if you’re looking for a change. Don’t want to do anything drastic.

  12. How about mk677 with high dose test?I see all these guys posting about how great mk677 is but i have yet to hear feedback from any pro.

It’s an option for you as you can’t use gh. Have I seen any crazy results from it? No, not personally. But there’s no reason you can’t try it given the situation you’re in

  13. On this "note" / topic, so-to-speak...! How about "age"

limit related...? Is age (low to mid 50's) much of a limiting

factor...? Or is it just quite possible to pack on "serious" mass. Even still Gear & GH / Slin..! Have much experience with slin, and "well" all 3 , & I've come off entirely except for GH & t-3/t-4 for the last nearly 2 months , in fact jumping back "On" to start my "Bulk" probably later today

Starting back with short esters to begin with , maybe a cc of 300 Test Decanoate /week. & No probs eating like a glutton, reasonably clean too, not a bunch of shit, but my metabolism def can still handle some garbage.

    Thanks...!

Age is definitely a limiting factor for growth. You’d definitely need gh to help as it naturally diminishes as you get older. It can be done though. I mean at Kevin Levrone with his come back.
