Now, this place is so quiet it's sort of cozy, but eventually, if we did get more activity, situations would arise where somone(s) with Mod powers would be needed to police things.

And ... why is this place even "up"?  Who's hosting, who's paying the bills, might the arrangement just suddenly expire at any time with no notice (to us), and all of us left in the dark?

Other than day-to-day presence, Mods, or Sam, are go-betweens for members and owners  (Official Mods)

Was gonna agree with all of the above, but I couldn't decide between the "trophy" button and the "heart" one, so I let it go.

Me?  I hadn't been here till the last few days, just assumed NC and IM were still running things.

Does Karius still own, and MU still admin, or am I hopelessly out of date?

Wouldn't final decisions as to who Mod's be up to those 2?  Does anyone even know how to contact, wasn't there a "Sam" who was sort of an intermediary?

Could timely interaction-communication be expected, or is this board adrift with no Captain now?  NOT trying to be a bitch, I am truly out of the loop time-wise.

Going forward with a board that either has no officially designated Mods, or at least none who can be found, seems "nice," I guess, but unsustainable in the long run?

GOOD to see YOU too, Apex.  If you didn't catch it up above, you are one of the handful or two of names I remember.  If others show up here it's likely I'd remember more on sight, but off the top of my head, you were one of the few.

Irony ... I actually have a B.S. Zoology  (which I never used to put bread on the table as Life went on), but I'd never heard the term apex predator till you.  Thought it was a cool handle, remember you as being worthy-slash-feisty on occasion, AND you were present but not the reason I left AB a few yrs ago.  Female named German, avi indicated she was certainly in The Game, NC seemed to know her from elsewhere ... she was catching some sophomoric misogynist shit (yes, I DID spit when I said that out loud lol) from a "noodles" person.  I forget if you agreed w/noodles in a much more reasonable way or disagreed, BUT I disagreed with how NC handled it, told him so, and left.  Think he posted he loved me in a condescending way, blah, blah, and I was gone.  I have no grandchildren, but I AM old enough, and I can still outdo anybody else's snitfits.  Ironically, it was me who later recommended him to be a VIP on another board, so I guess I calm down after a while. 

Irony V2  ....... I joined UGBB in 2018 and found German there as a Mod, who seemed to grow more inactive and more caustic as time went on, finally just disappearing in the last year(?) or so.

FINALLY  (at last lol) ... yes TID is The Iron Den.  It's my home board, it's been described as a board for cranky old men ... and it fits (me).  Anyone can join, most activity is from VIPs, many of whom have been on the boards for 20 or so years (I am more like 12 yrs and still feel new sometimes). NO one is rude to newcomers unless they're complete jerks, but a new member may not feel comfortable unless he works his way in via intelligent posting and/or is already well known from other places.  For reference, NC, IM, E_T are all registered, but don't spend much time there.  See schultz and snachito too, but infrequently.

Tell ya one reason AB may be slowing down ... may be members who share my bad temper.  Just took a few minutes to add a post where I provided a (possible) good recruiting lead, but it got gone.

I type slow, I interrupt to pet my dogs,I guess I timed out like bank websites do.  Fuck me.

Wetlook, not sure if your question is about board inactivity?  Your join date suggests you already know the checkered source history, and that may be what led to the inactivity.  I'm not up to date, kinda morphed away from AB a few yrs ago, I am probably not the best one to offer guesses+opinions.

I am sorta/kinda on a small private board I joined around 2011 or so, was never big, but did get daily quality activity.  Today it seems to be dying a slow painful death, no drama, just no activity.  New posts come only infrequently, the main activity is in the chatbox from a few vets mentioning low activity, and even the chats skip a day or few.

Guessing it's just a momentum thing ... activity breeds more activity, inactivity can breed more inactivity to the point of no return???

***   Wally, I will if I can, but I only remember a handful of names ... have seen NC, IM, Schultz and E_T on TID, but not recently, which may say something.  I do remember ApexPredator and SizeMatters,but have not seen them since here, a coupla yrs ago.  Saw German as an inactive Mod on ugbb, but that too has been a while.

Got here in 2013 back when Myo and GK were the Mods, was here when NC and IM took over, morphed away but thought I'd come back to see what I've been missing.

Impressive thread in the sense it makes this whole board look good to someone shopping for a board to replace some bad ones he's been on.

I was gonna give Navy a "Like," but the available symbols didn't seem to fit the mood, and the Heart especially.  Last time I gave him a Heart he took it seriously  ..........

Think Nebido is the European version, and Aveed is the American version, as far as legal, doctor-prescribed Test U intended for trt purposes.  The injection schedule lifter thinks he remembers is the same as what I think I remember, but googling either of the 2 brand names will take you there.  If a doctor is involved those shots would be punctuated by follow-up appointments + lab work so the doc can tweak the doses till they get you where HE wants you.  I have been using UGL for a few yrs to DIY trt or go a little higher to cruise.  If the little red-headed virus doesn't get me maybe LVH will, but it's always something.

I've used Test U from 3 different UGLs … all were 250mg/ml, all were painless, and I am clueless as to which oils were used.  My shots were always in the 1.0 - 1.5ml range, however, so I can't speak to pip issues with that large first shot doctors prefer.

The procedure is called a TURP … Trans Urethral Resection Prostate, what is sometimes called a roto-rooter job in slang.  I'm not sure where the medical Pro's draw the line between "procedure" and "surgery," but mine was done in a real O.R, under general anesthesia, and an overnight stay before discharge the next day.  It is minimally invasive in that they go in through a pre-existing passage with no suturing and healing required post-op.  There is one possible fatal side effect, but (1) it's rare, and (2) it's easily overcome and is the reason for the overnight stay.  Think of it like a colonoscopy with a tube that is equipped with a camera and some form of snippers, allowing the doctor to see where he is and then cut what he wants to remove … just like a colonoscopy but with much smaller equipment.  The area is constantly irrigated with sterile water so the doctor can see what he's doing, and that is where the risk is.  On rare occasions the patient's body can absorb enough sterile water to screw up his electrolytes, which can screw up the heart.  That's the reason for the overnight stay and why insurance doesn't argue … you are still hooked up to an IV, an EKG and whatever else is on that pole over the bed so Nurses can monitor your vital signs from out in the Nurses' Station.  If you had no incidents overnight (VERY likely) you're gtg home.

This is 100% painless thanks to general anesthesia, although subsequent urinations may burn a little and/or include a little blood for a day or few.  That does not mean you're gonna say "please sir, may I have another" though.  Different doctors may do things differently, but mine had me have an out-patient procedure a week or 2 before the TURP.  Doctor's office, an hour or so, you can drive to and from it.  A smaller scope that just lets him see, not snip, no general anesthesia, just the optimistically named "numbing gel."  It may be my memory is more about psychological anticipated pain than it is about actual pain, but I do not recommend this for recreational purposes.  Nevertheless, no screaming, and you're all done till the TURP.

But not so fast, Bucko.  After the TURP you're discharged to go home, still sporting a catheter and collection bag.  You go to that doctor's office a day or so later to have the catheter removed.  Again, my doctor's way of doing things may vary with others, but that removal was sheer un-drugged agony for me.  Seemed like a long slow pull for 30 seconds, probably it was more like just 5(?)  THAT was the worst part of the whole thing, but it was over seconds after the catheter was out.  Not sure if that nurse had had a nasty fight with her husband that morning or if she was just clumsy or if that's just typical.  They do not remove the whole prostate like they might for cancer; they just get excess prostate tissue.  I asked the doc about recurring growth, he said it's possible but that you might have a natural death before you'd need another TURP. 

Cannot believe Apex is banned and Noodles is not. Admittedly Apex is no fun for a Mod, but the thread, and the resulting issues, began with Noodles. Obviously insulting a Mod counts more than insulting German and being a noobish, childish POS in general. Bad call, smh, see ya.

Don't know if this is regional or nationwide, but those deodorant cakes they put in public urinals have "Swisher" embossed on them. Always used to chuckle at that when I hosed one down, cause a different Swisher was a much loved source @ SSB.

Gotcha. Hadn't lurked @ PM in a while, figured Thai was poking fun at how wide open the board is, like SSB used to be, or AB is on a smaller scale.

Coleman was huge when that photo was taken, had a raw bench well into the 500s, but ugly af. Age has not done him any favors either. The universe of strength/size guys, be it PL, BB, Wrasslin' or the throwing parts of Track+Field used to be a lot smaller than today, so they tended to seek each other out a lot. You can find a lot of photos of a young Stallone hanging out at the original Golds to see what all the fuss was about, and same place/similar time photos of Coleman with Arnold and the gang.

First thing I would do is seek a 2nd opinion from another Vet. Seems the cat has lost a lot of weight by under-eating for some underlying reason. If (s)he offers useful advice, it's a Win, or at least worth trying. If (s)he has nothing to add, you will have more peace of mind about making a very difficult decision. I think there is a consensus of opinion in our game that taking PEDs is not a risk-free action. It is a risk we are willing to assume to meet our goals. We can minimize the risks by educating ourselves and keeping the dosing somewhere below IFBB Pros, but the risks increase with the doses. Guessing which aas and which dose to give a cat who is already very sick may not be the best thing to do.

Agreed. I do my shopping now off a private board, but the few noobs who are fool enough to ask me for advice don't have access to private boards. I sympathize with their plight, I wanna help, I mention AB as a possible solution. I include warnings to read as many source reviews as they can, and to try to get a sense of which ones may be more reliable than others. Best I can do in this harsh online game we play. There may be some future legendary sources here right now, but testing that theory comes with some risk.

One thing that bothered me more than once in the last coupla yrs is the peculiar way some of the new guys arrive here. Like one will just suddenly get Listed out of nowhere, with no introduction to the board from any Staff member at any level. Or ... someone will begin posting and introduce himself as a new Source before he does appear on the List of Sources. I have pm'd a Mod about that a coupla times as soon as I saw it, and the response I got was words to the effect of "I dunno, this is the first time I heard of it."

Pretty sure the Vetting process has defaulted to just questions on the board from members, which is better than some of the tightly censored/edited/deleted boards do I guess, but I think AB's past reputation was built on a better system.

Never thought about this aspect before ...... you have some Constitutional rights protecting your home from illegal search and seizure, depending on how clever LE is about convincing a judge to sign a warrant, but ....

if you are in a motel/hotel, I'm pretty sure you surrender those rights, that LE can just get permission from the motel/hotel owner, which is unlikely to be refused. People from many sports, and "sports entertainment," have a reputation and the appearance of what the public considers steroid users. What's to stop LE anywhere from doing these kind of searches on anyone who is traveling and can be profiled as a probable user? Imagine for instance The Arnold, or The O, where hotels are filled with celebrities and some pretty huge no-names who would be easy targets for ambitious LE to make their reputations on.

I too have heard of a placebo effect, though more about thinking placebos helped with ailments than with muscles. Willing to accept that placebos maybe produce a very subtle effect on muscles, but anxious to see links that prove the effect is worth talking about to guys who use real PEDs.
