I've had very good success with myself and some of my more fanatical health nut clients using the blood type diet. They can be a bit strict but they seem to have had some solid results when studied as well. In regards to you if you're not an o, red meat may not be the best choice for you.

A light on your gun is fine but where do you usually carry the gun when you would be in a situation lot need it? Low ready? Ready position? You are telegraphing exactly where your body is. A desperate hand held light can be held overhead, to the side, 45 to the side, etc. sure can can argue it will take a second to get that hand in position on the gun hand but atleast you have kept them guessing where you actually are. Do not use any light and walk around with it on. Turn it on, scan, turn it off, walk, repeat.

 

Again just an opinion & diff approach to training.

The speed rock and the back roll is for when you have no way to retreat.

It purely done to protect the gun and create distance. Retreat backwards while firing would be a much better scenario.

We did headshots with shotgun using the hostage target (Bad guy with gun holding hostage). You need to pattern your shotgun.

If you plan to use it in self defense you need to know the pattern of the ammo in that gun. also if its semi, need to know your gun cycles with that ammo.

For anyone that does not know what that means is that you need to know how much the BBs spread at certain distances.

The pattern with 00 is different than 4g in my defense shotgun. For home defense you really dont need to pattern your gun very far.

I want a very small pattern if I have a choice.

I have done plenty of night shooting with both laser and lights.

The telegraph thing just isnt an issue in home defense.

Weapon mounted lights is the way to go here. Laser is slow as shit. Pretty much totally worthless.

Would never put one on a gun for home defense or CC gun.

Clearing a house with a flashlight and handgun isnt easy.

When you slice the pie you want both hand on the gun and if you have to open a door you dont lose the light.

Pretty much all new training is with weapons lights, two hands on the gun, same stand.

The old police training was more like what you describe. Nothing wrong with it, been working for decades.

Just know how to do it.

I would clear the house with a weapons light and I would leave it on in my house.

But thats only if I cleared it. I would probably just wait until 911 showed up or a target came into my sights.

Really dont matter much how you do this, as long as you know what you do.

Clear your house the way you plan to when shit hits the fan BEFORE it hits.

You might be surprised about the obstacle you didnt think about.

Have a plan.

Let me a few things.

The brand is irrelevant.

The fit of the gun is critical. Find something that fits your hand and points right.

Your tool, AKA gun needs to fit your tactics.

If you have limited experience and tactics then dont try to clear your house.

Call the cops, wait until they show and clear it.

Using a long gun for home defense if fine, but you need to understand its limits and how to use.

Your small motorskills are totally gone when shit hits the fan. Make sure you know how to use the weapon.

The point that a semi will not be a good thing to ram into a person is true but ramming a gun into a person is totally wrong tactic.

Distance is your friend. Create it and use it.

Learn the speed rock, learn to use distance by rolling on your back and use your legs to create distance.

Night sights are ok but a good gun light is better.

Glocks standard sights should be replaced if you plan to use it often or carry it.

Find the ones you like. If you are going to replace get night sights of course.

But if you can only pick one thing get a gun light.

Shot placement is critical regardless of weapon but to think that a defense shotgun will spread the BB all over is just wrong.

Pattern your gun and know its limits. Remember this is home defense, distance will be VERY short, its not like shooting skeet.

Most importantly, practice, practice and practice.

I am not sure how many has actually tried to clear their own home.

Do it in the dark as its a real situation, you might be suprised.

If you have an attached garage, install a peep hole.

Its a bunch of little things like that you can use to "expand" your view.

A picture on the wall might give enough reflection to see if someone is round a corner.

Look for those things. Make a plan and practice it.

But probably what we all should do is to get the family into one room and call 911.

Wait until the cops shows up.

I dont carry a firearm unless I have 300 rounds down range without a single issue.

I will put at least 50 rounds of carry ammo too. some guns can be picky about a JHP vs a FMJ.

Home defense has a few things to be aware of.

The number one think to remember is that you are responsible for every round coming out of your gun.

The longest distance in your house is probably very short. You want to use something that will not penetrate multiple walls and kills someone unintended.

For home def, I have a Benelli M1 with extended tube and a surefire front end.

4gage bird shot will take care of business but not penetrate walls.

Used GPZ many times and they are good.

It should be obvious while it irrelevant in this discussion.

If you look at the picture then look at the diagrams and draw any conclusion regarding chemtrails then you really need to spend some time on critical thinking.

Several of the so called reports are referring to anonymous people as expert.
