  1. My kids' activities have put a damper on my hobbies the last few years. I played drums in a band umy single days, but sold my kit in 2009. What little free time I have now is occupied by honey-do's, tinkering around on my truck, and doing small minor repairs around the house (thanks to YouTube). I'd like to get back in great shape this spring/summer, but long term I'd like to fix up some rental property in the area & get back to playing drums. Getting old sucks!

  2. A well known pro here gave me this advice regarding Slin:

Do 5iu which would be up to the 10 mark on a 100unit slin pin intramuscular in ur delt pre-workout.....during ur workout drink 32 ounces of orange juice, diluted with 32oz of water.....put a few scoops of creatine and bcaa's in there as well. Sip that throughout ur workout, keep an extra 32oz of juice in ur gym bag in case u grt hypo. Try to stagger the OJ/bcaa blend for 2 hours or the length of ur workout.....once u finish that drink 100g of whey isolate, to catch the back end of the spike. But keep the extra juice with u just in case. This is basically my slin pre-workout protocol bud.

i start off at 5iu and increase it every 5 days or so, along with carb increases, but 5iu seems like the best starting point for most...increase it every 5 days for 6 weeks, then take a 4 week break

5iu is the 5 mark on a 100iu or 50iu insulin pin. I'm not sure why you doubled the dosage, but whatever the number/mark is on an insulin syringe, that's how much insulin you're actually injecting. Be careful what information you post up, especially when an error like this could have grave consequences.

  3. Shelby definitely got me in the best shape of my life. He was very fast to respond with updates. But once he turned pro, his prices went up, and I felt like maybe I wasn't getting my money's worth since I wasn't a top level competitor. That may not even be the case, but I got that feeling. Nothing he recommended was anything I didn't already know. The greatest benefit was having another set of eyes, regular check-ins kept me accountable, and his advice took the weight of over-analyzing every detail off of my shoulders. Shelby's fairly conservative, which i feel, is a good thing.

There are countless numbers of NPC/IFBB competitors and even some good non-competitors offering nutritional/training services. One of the best would be John Meadows. The last time I checked, there was a 4-6 week wait time to receive a plan. I know his training and nutrition are on point, but I have no idea about his drug protocols. Matt Jansen, Dominick Cardone, Phil Visicaro, Adam McVey are among many that I would consider working with. I'm sure you could compile a list of literally hundreds of potential coaches, so good luck with the search.

  4. I worked with Shelby for 2 years. What exactly are you looking for in a coach? Some are drug gurus, some specialize in nutrition, some focus on training, while some work in all areas. If I knew what you wanted out of a coach, I could give you my opinion.

  5. Blood thinners don't thin the blood. They prevent clots from forming. Testosterone therapy and likely being dehydrated (you said you work in the heat) are the likely cause. A baby aspirin isn't going to hurt you, and I'm surprised your doc didn't advise you of that.

  6. I put myself through college playing drums in a very talented band. I regret thinking I HAD to get a real job as soon as I graduated. Looking back, we should've given ourselves 3-5 years to see just how far we could've taken it.

  7. Huh? You do realize that just bc a guy takes steroids it doesn't mean he can't have kids? Many pro bodybuilders have kids, I would guess and say 75% of guys on this board age 35+ have kids. I personally myself have 2 kids, and at one time in my life took more gear then 5 guys combined take. In fact my wife got pregnant with my son 2 weeks after I was done a heavy heavy cycle, ie 5-6 grams total gear weekly.

Anyone who thinks they can't get a girl pregnant since they use steroids is in for a rude awakening. On that note I sure hope you are using a "real" form of birth control otherwise you're gonna be a father sooner then you think.

    B

I'm proof of that, too. Girlfriend got pregnant while running high dose test prop & tren acetate.

  8. Hany Rambod is not so great after he basically ended Seth Feroce's Ifbb career by advising excessive diuretic usage. Now Seth suffers from Renal failure.

I had actually typed this in my response, but deleted it since I wasn't really sure of the truth. Sad to trust your coach & it cost you your health.

  9. I think there's quite a bit of variation between what these guys bring to the table. John Meadows and Charles Glass are trainers in the traditional sense. There's the guys like Chris Aceto that are primarily nutritionists. Then there's the drug gurus. Some of them overlap specialties, but most have their one area of expertise. For example, Dusty Hanshaw works with Chris Cormier & Dante Trudell in the gym and Chris Aceto for his diet. Guy Cisternino uses Charles Glass in the gym and Aceto in the kitchen. Fouad Abiad is with Dennis James for diet and John Meadows for training. Others depend on one guy, ie Big Ramy/Dennis James, to handle all of it.

Dennis James, Fakhri Mubarak, John Meadows, Chris Aceto all seem to be at the top of their game. I've heard mixed opinions on Hany Rambod and George Farrah.

  10. If it's written on a piece of paper, well then it must be true!!

and yes, I used to post on that board.

speaking of flex wheeler....you seen him lately? Regarded by his peers as "some of the best genetics to ever walk on the olympia stage". He's still on trt doses and apparently has a myostatin deficiency, yet looks no better than a casual gym rat whos done a bit of test and deca here and there.

I won't get in a pissing match regarding this kid's AAS usage. Maybe he's taking legit kigtropins, insulina, and trembolona?!

I think you're referring to Flex Wheeler, not Lewis. Wheeler was diagnosed with a type of kidney disease in the late 90s, and had a transplant a few years later. Between a kidney transplant & being nearly 50, there's no way he could look close to what he used to.

  11. Hardcore210, how are you buddy? I am really happy to see you posting here on anabolicboard. Last night I just got off the phone with our mutual friend, Big E...Big E and I are still very close and we talk all the time and email each other all the time.

How is your little kid? Big E told me awhile back, several years ago I think, that you have a little one now?? Girl or boy? Age?

God Bless you my Man. I hope your Family, Career and Spiritual Life are all going really well.

Fellas, I have known Hardcore210 since 2001, about 13 years. He is one hell of a nice, kind guy. He is always the first one to help a brother out, to lend a hand when help is needed. I am proud to call him my friend. He definitely deserves everyone's respect here on anabolicboard.

    Take care buddy. (smile)

Hey, buddy! I've lurked around here for several years, but have been a little more active lately. Haven't seen Big E in several years. I moved in 2007, but my brother knows him & used to live in his neighborhood. Tell him hello!

I've got 2 daughters, 9 & 6. The 9 yr old is my stepdaughter, but I raise her as my own. My 6 yr old is my mini me.

All is well, just prepping for a show in July. How's everything with you? Still living in the same area?

I appreciate the kind words! DBP was responsible for introducing me to MESO years ago, so I should credit him with much of my physique gains over the years! Likewise, a good friend!

Great to see you still around!

  12. honest to god man yeah i personally have a few friends that did it when they were 14 even knew a guy who did it when he was 12 his older sisters boyfriend put him on stuff....these are just guys who were stupid kids who just did it and didnt compete

And to think, I wasted 10-12 years by waiting until I was 24! I don't think I even had pubes at 12, but I could bench 105!

  13. everybody in the bodybuilding world LIE about everything. Why do you think you can never get consistent answers to questions about pro bodybuilders ever? That kid has prolly been doing it since he was 14 and prolly does insane amount along with hgh insulin and synthol in every body part. I do think genetics help. I''m sure everyone can remember back in high school that one kid who could grow a full beard and looked like a grown man at age 14. Even when i was a senior in high school I looked like a little kid and couldnt even grow a beard. Like i stated before those guys who are naturally skinny and ripped usually always look better and never get that bloated look. Just like they said in the movie Bigger Faster Stronger the human body hasn't evolved its just better and more performance enhancing drugs.

Have you met any 14 year olds on gear? Any have the money, knowledge, maturity, responsibility for gear? The kid I'm referring to is dirt poor, comes from a broken family, and is an immigrant from a war-torn area. I think living with the fear of not knowing where his next meal was coming from, or if he'd survive to see his next meal, was a little more important than scoring pharm grade gear and training his ass off.

Like you said, those guys who are naturally skinny and ripped.... That's genetics. How you respond to gear is a genetic response. How you respond to diet and training stimuli are genetic responses. Are the pros on a ton of gear? Absolutely! Would I look like them following the same protocols? Doubtful.

  14. I know his nutritionist very well, so the knowledge I have is basically firsthand. This guy is a good friend of mine & has nothing to gain by lying. He's definitely not taking credit for the youngster's progress up to this point. Even if the kid was using all kinds of top-notch gear, that alone doesn't explain why he could beat a guy (me) twice his age, on gear for over 10 years, and living the lifestyle for just as long. My point is genetics play a far greater role than anything else.

  15. Definitely genetics. I'm in my mid-30s, been juicing off & on for 10 years, competed multiple times, and have been lifting weights since about 10 years old. I met an 18-yr old a couple weeks ago that was on his first cycle, and he made me question what I've done with my youth! Kid looked phenomenal! I'd wager that he'll come in 2nd to Cody Montgomery at the teen nationals this summer. You can't tell me this kid has put in more time, effort, gear, etc into developing his physique than I have. The only way to explain it is genetics.
