...The only thing I have to say about this is ( I wont say much because I haven't watched TV in years and know very little), why did the cop shoot him six times? Am I wrong about how many shots? Seriously, cops need to learn a little fucking restraint. Shooting someone 2 times with a 40 cal. will drop the most mountainous of men - if placed properly. Hell, even not placed properly should cripple just about anyone.

Because he didn't go down after the first five, pretty obvious. You shoot until the threat stops. Some of the shit I see posted, I swear some of you would be dead the first week if you were cops. You really think there is no difference between shooting somebody when they are scared and not in a fighting situation vs shooting somebody when their adrenaline is surging and they are in fight or flight mode? Again this goes back to people not having their facts straight, watch more court TV. None of the first five shots were enough to take him down, they have outlined this in the autopsy, the last shot hit him in the head and killed him.

But he didn't. That one was pretty bad, not to get off topic. He asked the guy to get his license and he turned around and reached in his car to get something, he was just told to get it. Then the cop unloads on him before he sees anything. If the cop was so on edge for whatever reason by that guy he should have asked him to step away from the car and asked him where his license was. That dude literally got shot by doing what the cop asked him to do.

The good outcome about that case was that I believe they fired the officer, instead of the normal " paid leave" that most police stations do.

That's all? He should have been sued or arrested.

or the case where the black kid was outside his vehicle and the cop asked him to get his liscense out of the vehicle and when he did, the cop shot him in the thigh. I respect law enforcement, but there are many LEO's who just want to carry a badge and a gun and want to use excessive force because they can. They need to do more background checks into the officers hired.

Yeah that one was ridiculous too. That's actually one that I'd say the cop actually did act like that because the guy was black. So many cops are retards but so are a lot of people they deal with, people just need to look at each case objectively.

But my problem with this is what if it was a normal, law abiding citizen who was attacked the same way the cop was and shot the aggresser. Would the courts justify it as self defense and find that person not guilty as they did the cop?

 

Why should the cop be allowed to defend themselves like that but the normal, law abiding citizens usually have to worry about being put behind bars for just defending themselves. Cops should be trained to handle aggressors better than what they do. There has been too many cops incidents lately about using excessive force and that fact cannot be argued.

That's true but each case is different so that really doesn't matter here, I'd say this one was justified. I really don't understand why this story gets so much attention and hardly anybody ever said anything about the Oscar Grant killing. That guy was literally executed by a cop.

I suggest that anybody that thinks this officer was not scared for his life and firing his weapon in defense, needs to read the grand jury documents and see the actual testimony and documented evidence. The media tends to give partial truths and distort information. There was a long and through investigation done on many levels and the transcripts are available to anyone who wants to see them. The facts are plain and simple in this case and many of the stories you heard on tv about a poor defenseless kid were proven to be made up or the people changed them along the way. I know if I was a police officer and I have a huge street thug who just punched me twice in the head and fired my weapon in the holster, and he has decided to charge towards me again; I sure as hell would be shooting the thug too. These guys have a very risky job and in the end they need to do what it takes to ensure that they can go home at the end of each night to their families. The bottom line: Michael Browns parents should be mad at themselves and not the police department. After all the police department didn't raise a street thug.

I see you haven't been following the news. It was proven that he was not shot in the back. This is part of the problem, people not getting their facts straight. Blacks testified that Brown was charging at Wilson when he fired, sorry but the truth hurts I know.

You don't know that, you weren't there. You can Monday morning quarterback it all day long but unless you were the jury that got all the evidence or Darren Wilson you can't make that call. If some 280lb black kid went for my gun and then turned back around and charged me I'm going to shoot him too. If he means more than going home to your family then hey, pull out the baton and go one on one. Lex Luger & Scott Steiner were it in my book. Man I envied them guys. I use to watch it all the time, even went to a few shows. My grandma use to watch it with me a long time ago. She use to go to matches all the time, there was a popular place they had matches about an hour drive, she use to go watch them.
