You shouldnt be shooting 556 out of a 223. But you can shoot 223 out of a 556.

The SAAMI specs are not the same. its higher in the 556.

And the 556 chamber is a bit larger so less pressure there. Also, if your chamber has a short or long throat like your 223 wylde.

 

Bottom line comes down to the chamber of your rifle.

I like the 40. Big men carry big guns. If he's muscular n big the 40s fine. I personally like hk over glock. For me the usp 9mm compact is ideal size n weight. I also wear cloths that wouldnt be good with a 40 daily. I do have the hk usp 40 also. Love it. I don't like the no safty on glocks.

I prefer the HK45 and the P30 and VP9 over the usp .45 or the usp 9mm. Better ergos. But the win goes to the HK USP .45 if you want the 12 round mags versus the 10 max on the hk45.

GK likes H&K pistols. Have plenty.

Fwiw I also have a glock 17 because it's cheap and reliable, and shoots decent out of the box if you have any skill whatsoever. Put better sights on it though. Meprolight or trijicon are my favorites.

Will probably give it to the wife. For striker fire pistols the VP9 or PPQ are best imo. Glock is decent for a first time gun though for sure. You should be stoked. Can't beat the trigger on a PPQ or a VP9 though. I like the ergos on the VP9 best though.
